Wildfires raged through Los Angeles' Pacific Palisades neighborhood, forcing many Hollywood stars like Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, and James Woods to pack up and leave. The flames, driven by strong winds, destroyed homes and blocked roads as tens of thousands escaped. In the panic, people abandoned their cars and ran, suitcases in hand. The Instagram posts from celebrities shared the chaos, with Hamill writing about small fires on both sides of the road as he left Malibu. Stars such as Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg also have homes in the area.
Officials didn't give a count of the structures hit by the wildfire, but they noted that around 30, 000 people were ordered to evacuate and over 13, 000 structures were at risk. The fire torched Temescal Canyon, a popular hiking spot surrounded by pricey homes. Flames even jumped famous Sunset Boulevard, damaging parts of the well-known Palisades Charter High School. This school has been featured in many productions, including the movie “Carrie” and the TV series “Teen Wolf. ” Woods posted videos of the fire, showing how it burned through bushes and past palm trees, creating a surreal scene of orange flames between landscaped yards.
Moore, early in the morning, wrote on Instagram, "Evacuated and safe with kids, dogs, and cats. Praying and grateful for the first responders. " Movie premieres were canceled due to the fire and wind, and the Los Angeles Unified School District had to temporarily move students from three campuses in the Pacific Palisades area.
