Making baby carriers that actually fit everyone

Back in 2018, two friends decided they’d had enough of the babywearing industry leaving them—and countless others—out in the cold. Most carriers felt terrible to use if you weren’t a small size, and popular options quickly vanished from shelves. Instead of just complaining, they chose to change things by launching their own brand. Eight years later, their company now supports over thirty workers and two local production teams in Minneapolis, moving into a much larger warehouse to keep up with demand that grew by more than two thousand percent in just three years. Word-of-mouth became their strongest ally. Early customers came from a tiny online group of parents where everyone really listens to each other. Instead of chasing big influencers with big fees, they built real relationships—no forced sales pitches, just honest conversations. Even their social media stood out: they showed messy, real moments—breast milk stains, honest talks about miscarriages, and the daily struggles of working parenthood—when most brands were polishing perfect photos.Their biggest product launch almost didn’t happen. They’d always believed in wraps and slings over buckle carriers, but customers kept asking. They finally asked themselves why buckle carriers weren’t comfortable enough for bigger parents. After a full year of redesigning, the new buckle carrier arrived in late 2023 and sold out within two days. A smaller newborn version followed in early 2024 and vanished in under a day, creating waitlists that kept growing with every restock. Scaling fast isn’t all smooth sailing. They started with just seven thousand dollars from a work bonus and reinvested every dollar for years before paying themselves. Bank balances dipped to single digits at times, and expanding spaces or renovating warehouses had to happen before they felt fully ready. Ethical production means you can’t just rush more products overnight, so guessing demand becomes a constant challenge.
