Malaysia Airlines’ New Business Class: A Step Up in Comfort

Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaThu Jan 02 2025
Malaysia Airlines is introducing its new Airbus A330neo jets with an impressive business class experience. The seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, offering direct aisle access and privacy to all passengers. Designed by Collins Aerospace, these suites feature sliding doors, large 4K video screens, and modern charging options like USB-C and wireless charging. The A330neo business class will gradually replace the older A330s on key routes like Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and India. Interestingly, these suites will also be retrofitted onto the long-range Airbus A350s starting in 2026. Comparing the new business class to Malaysia Airlines’ current A330 business class, the new suites are a significant upgrade. Based on the same platform as British Airways’ Club Suite, these seats are almost identical but offer fewer storage nooks. Each suite has high walls for privacy, a sliding door for a cozy atmosphere, and comfortably padded seats that recline to a fully lie-flat bed. While the footwell is slightly smaller than in the current model, the overall comfort is enhanced by modern amenities and a user-friendly layout. The new A330neo business class suites boast a 17. 3” 4K Ultra HD screen, Bluetooth audio streaming, and free WiFi for all passengers. The cabin experience is further improved with ambient LED lighting, quieter environments, and larger overhead bins. Malaysia Airlines aims to have five A330neos operational by the first quarter of 2025, with destinations including Melbourne, Auckland, Tokyo, and Doha. The remaining fleet will be introduced by 2028, with plans to add more jets to expand the network.
