Malibu Fire Forces Celebrities to Flee Homes

A huge fire, dubbed the Franklin Fire, has been burning in Malibu for days. The fire started on Monday night, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds. It has already grown to over 3, 000 acres, forcing many people to leave their homes. Celebrities like Dick Van Dyke and Cher are among those who have had to evacuate. Other Malibu residents, such as Barbra Streisand, Julia Roberts, and Lady Gaga, might also be affected, though details are still coming in. Van Dyke, who turns 99 this week, shared on Facebook that he and his wife had to leave their home. Sadly, one of their cats went missing. Cher's publicist told The New York Times that the singer had moved to a hotel with her pets. Other residents, including Jane Seymour and Beyoncé, have also evacuated or are in evacuation zones. The fire is still a big threat, with more wind expected. The National Weather Service warned that fire weather will continue in Southern California.
