Mandate to Evaluate Defense Budget

Trump has handed over the task of closely inspecting the Pentagon’s expenses to the billionaire Elon Musk and his team, known as DOGE. President chose to set up DOGE via executive order, on the day of his being sworn in. DOGE is in charge of finding new techniques to make the government more effective and efficient at using technology and software Musk, the well known businessman behind DOGE, is causing a stir with his audits. The White House accuses USAID of spending money in a wasteful manner. The DOGE team isn’t stopping at USAID. Instead, it's about to focus on the education and defense departments along with other government agencies. Trump was quoted as saying""They will definitely locate areas where wastage has happened at Defense, "" He points out that the DEFENSE DEPARTMENT is one of the largest expenditures of the United States with an annual budget close to eight hundred and fifty billion dollars.Before the Trump White House, there were concerns raised about how the Pentagon is spending their money. In a town hall with defense officials, the Defense Secretary said he would focus on improving the Pentagon's audits. He also mentioned that he wants to focus all available resources towards maintaining and rebuildingAmerica's military in ways that are meaningful. He even suggested cutting out any military programs that wouldn't work in a fight against possible enemies like China. A large part of the Pentagon's spending is going to programs that might not have a huge impact on military effectiveness. A clean audit would allow the defense department to use available resources effectively, thus improving the overall efficiency of the department.
