Mayweather Drops $175M Fight Over Ex-Business Partners

Floyd Mayweather has pulled back from a big fraud lawsuit worth $175 million. The 50-0 boxer told the New York Supreme Court he is ending the case against Jona Rechnitz, Ayal Frist, Alexander Seligson, and Frist Apex Ventures. He is not giving up the chance to bring the matter back later.

The dispute began in May. Mayweather said the group took money that should have reached him. His claims included income from property deals, about $100 million in expensive jewelry, and money from selling a private jet. He sought at least $175 million in damages.

The other side pushed hard against the filing. A lawyer for the defendants said the lawsuit had no real support. That made the sudden move surprising, because the case had looked serious on paper.

No clear reason has been given for the drop. One person close to Rechnitz said the defendants were getting ready to answer the lawsuit. Their planned response included receipts meant to show that Mayweather's claims were not accurate.
