McDonald's New Eco-Straws: More Trouble Than They're Worth?

McDonald's is on a mission to go green, but their new "sustainable" straws are leaving customers unhappy. These flimsy plastic straws just can't handle the chain's famous milkshakes or sodas. Some folks even need to use two or three straws to get the job done. Isn't that kind of missing the point of being eco-friendly?
Sure, paper straws might not be the best option, but do these new straws really make a big difference in the grand scheme of things? The truth is, plastic waste in the oceans is a global problem. Cutting down on straws in the West won't make a dent in the larger issue.
It's like when people say we should all switch to induction ranges and eat bugs instead of steak. These policies might sound nice, but they often make life harder and more expensive for those who can least afford it. If we really care about the planet, shouldn't we be pushing for real solutions, like better battery tech and cleaner energy sources?
Instead, we get these crummy straws and weird food suggestions. It's all about feeling good, not actually doing good.
