Meet Jeremiah Donati: USC's New Athletics Director
COLUMBIA, SC, USAFri Dec 06 2024
The University of South Carolina has a new leader for its sports teams. Jeremiah Donati, who's known for his big achievements at TCU, is now in charge of Gamecock Athletics. Before this, Ray Tanner was the athletics director for a long time. The university's board of trustees approved Donati's contract before he was officially introduced.
Donati is excited about his new role. He said, "I'm honored to join the University of South Carolina. This school has a great history in sports and passionate fans. I can't wait to work with our coaches, student-athletes, and staff. Our goal is to be the best in the country in both sports and supporting our students. "
At TCU, Donati did a lot to improve their sports facilities. He brought in $500 million for upgrades. During his time there, the Horned Frogs won eight national team championships and eleven Big 12 Conference titles. Their football team even made it to the national championship game in 2022. Donati also led many big fundraising efforts.
USC's President, Michael Amiridis, is happy to have Donati on board. He said, "Jeremiah's work at TCU shows what he can do. His leadership will help us continue the great work of Gamecock Athletics and give our student-athletes the best support and resources. "
