Chevigny is no stranger to the film industry, having produced or directed over a dozen documentaries and series throughout her career. She co-founded Big Mouth Productions, an independent production company, and even won an Emmy in 2023 for her work on "Home" for A24 / AppleTV+. Her documentaries, including "E-Team" and "Dick Johnson Is Dead, " have received numerous award nominations."The Easy Kind" stars country singer Elizabeth Cook, who plays a fictionalized version of herself. The movie follows Cook's journey as she navigates the challenges of middle age and the music industry. Chevigny's background in documentaries brings a unique realism to the film, which has been praised for its authenticity. Chevigny's interest in Cook began when she lived in Nashville in 2015 and saw her perform at a weekly gig in a dive bar. The two collaborated closely to create Cook's character in the film.
