California, Los Angeles, USASat Dec 21 2024
Ever wondered who's behind the scenes of your favorite TV shows? Meet Kevin Plunkett, the latest big shot to join Wolf Entertainment. He's snagged the title of Executive Vice President of Development, which basically means he's the go-to guy for creating new scripted content. Reporting to the company's Chief Operating Officer, Peter Jankowski, Plunkett will work closely with teams from both Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. This isn't just a role upgrade for Plunkett; it's a first for Wolf Entertainment in years. They haven't had a dedicated senior development exec since 2016.
Why the change now? Well, Wolf Entertainment is broadening their reach. They're not just sticking to broadcast TV anymore. Shows like Law & Order: Organized Crime are making the leap to streaming platforms like Peacock. And get this: they're launching their very first original streaming series, On Call, on Prime Video. That's where Plunkett comes in. With his impressive resume, having worked with the likes of Jigsaw, New Regency, and even produced the Creator Classic at the PGA Tour Championship, he's got the chops to take Wolf Entertainment to the next level.
“Kevin’s experience is a major boost for us, ” Jankowski said. “He's worked with top streamers, networks, and production companies, which will be super useful as we keep developing content for all platforms. "
Plunkett has a history that's nothing short of spectacular. He's held big jobs at Jigsaw, E! Entertainment, ABC Studios, and ABC Network. Most recently, he executive produced the Creator Classic. Before that, he was the boss of scripted content at Jigsaw Productions and even led the creation of hit series like The Royals when he was at E!
“I’m really excited to join Wolf Entertainment and lead their development, ” Plunkett shared. “I’ve been a fan of Dick’s shows for ages, and getting to work with him and Peter is a dream come true. My plan is to build on their legendary franchises and create shows that become cultural landmarks, both on broadcast and streaming. "
