Washington, D.C., USAWed Oct 23 2024
Last Tuesday, President Joe Biden had a chat with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob in the Oval Office at the White House. This was a big deal because it had been 18 years since a Slovenian leader last visited. They talked about some important stuff, like what's going on in the Middle East and Ukraine. They also agreed that Europe should stick together. Biden said how great Slovenia was for helping with a swap of prisoners between the U. S. and Russia over the summer. This swap included four Americans, like Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gerskovich and former U. S. Marine Paul Whelan. Golob said this showed real friendship between their countries. They also talked about the Western Balkans and how important it is for NATO to get more defense money.
