Metro Detroit Weather: Heat, Storms, and What's Next
Detroit, Michigan, USAFri Jun 27 2025
Metro Detroit is in for a weather rollercoaster. The end of the week brings a mix of heat, humidity, and strong storms. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will stay warm and humid, with lows around 71°F.
Friday is shaping up to be a hot one. Highs will reach 91°F, but with humidity, it will feel like the mid to upper 90s, even hitting 100°F. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for severe weather. This means some storms could bring damaging winds and heavy rain. The main threats will be strong winds and excessive rainfall, starting around lunchtime and lasting into the evening.
The good news is that after Friday, things will start to cool down. Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s. Sunday will bring more sunshine and a return to the lower 90s.
The heat and humidity are sticking around until the cold front moves through late Friday night. Once it does, the weekend will be drier and more comfortable. So, while the next few days might be a bit rough, relief is on the way.
