Microsoft's Auto SR Upscaling Now on Intel Copilot+

The tool leans on the NPU inside every Copilot+ machine. It uses pre‑trained AI to make the game look sharper while rendering at a lower pixel count. So the picture stays true to the artist’s vision. It keeps the picture looking sharp without blurring details.

In tests it can lift frame rates by up to fifteen percent in games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It works with any DirectX 10 or newer title. Microsoft points to a handful of games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Assetto Corsa, Avowed, Control, Doom: The Dark Ages. The aim is to push games past the sixty‑frame‑per‑second mark, with future updates targeting ninety to one‑twenty frames.

The feature lives in a Microsoft Store app you can install easily. But if your PC is very powerful, you might still want to use the game’s own upscaling tech like DLSS, XeSS or FSR. For now the sweet spot is 1080p and the sixty‑fps goal.

You can grab the app from the Microsoft Store and turn it on with a click. While it helps reach sixty frames per second on Intel Copilot+ machines, high‑end PCs may still prefer native upscaling options like DLSS, XeSS or FSR. The goal is to push beyond sixty frames, aiming for ninety to one‑twenty frames in the future.
