Middle East nations exploring Ukraine's drone defense strategies

Ukraine is reaching out to Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain to share its knowledge on stopping drone attacks, according to the country's president. Earlier this month, Ukraine's leader visited several Middle Eastern nations to pitch its expertise in countering drones, particularly those from Iran. During this trip, deals were made with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while the United Arab Emirates announced a similar agreement. More than 200 Ukrainian experts traveled to the region and have already proven their skills by taking down long-range Iranian Shahed drones. This experience shows why a strong electronic warfare system is crucial for defense. The Ukrainian president highlighted that simple, one-time solutions aren’t enough—countries need long-term plans to protect themselves.The discussions aren’t just about drones. Oil and diesel supplies to Ukraine were also part of the bigger picture in these talks. While some deals were signed, others are still being worked out. Oman is already in talks, while Kuwait and Bahrain are in earlier stages of negotiation. The goal is to form 10-year security partnerships that go beyond just sharing defense technology.
