Mike Love Fights On Stage Despite Serious Health Battles
Ryman Auditorium, NashvilleThu Oct 15 2026
John Stamos took charge of getting Beach Boys legend Mike Love to perform at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The actor had spent weeks quietly supporting his musical hero after learning about serious health challenges facing the man he calls a mentor.
Stamos arranged a fundraiser for the Scleroderma Research Foundation to help Mike, which also served as a platform for the Beach Boys' legendary frontman. During the event, Stamos spoke openly about his friend's condition, describing him as a fighter who refused to let doctors, family, or friends convince him to stay home.
The show itself became a powerful moment. Even though Mike had battled health issues for quite some time, he insisted on singing at the Ryman. He chose to sit in his seat rather than take the lead vocal duties, relying on his band and audience for support. Afterward, both Stamos and Mike's son Brian lifted him up, and Mike thanked them for giving him the chance to share his music again.
