Mississippi's Stormy Night: One Life Lost

Mississippi, USASun Dec 29 2024
Last night, Mississippi faced a brutal storm that unfortunately took at least one life. The Jackson metro area still saw rain falling, but the worst seems to be over. The severe weather warnings have expired, indicating the dangerous part of the storm has moved out. The storm brought a powerful line of thunderstorms across the area, with a tornado striking Franklin County, causing damage near Meadville. Another tornado hit the areas between McComb and Brookhaven, affecting communities like Sontag and Georgetown. Besides tornadoes, significant wind damage was reported. The majority of the rain is now shifting to regions like Tylertown in Walthall County and Jefferson Davis County. The severe threat has also subsided in Smith, Scott, and Lee Counties. We're getting updates and some footage from a football game that was happening during the storm. The weather's impact was noticeable, but hopefully, everyone stayed safe. The program was interrupted to provide weather information, so if you and your family were affected, we hope you're OK and there was no major damage or power outages.
