MIT Faces Legal Action Over Campus Antisemitism
Cambridge, USAThu Jun 26 2025
A lawsuit has been filed against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) by a former student and an instructor. They claim the university did not take action against antisemitism on campus after the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel.
The instructor, Lior Alon, and the former student, William Sussman, both Jewish, say the school ignored a rise in hatred. They believe this made it hard for them to be part of campus life. They also say it hurt their chances to learn and grow professionally.
The lawsuit says MIT did not do enough to stop antisemitism. It claims the school did not have strong leadership or hold anyone accountable.

The two people who filed the lawsuit want MIT to take this seriously. They want the school to do more to protect Jewish students and staff.
