Mackenzie, BC, CanadaWed Jan 01 2025
In the small town of Mackenzie, B. C. , a chilling discovery was made on December 28, 2024. A man's body was found lying on the Finlay Community Connector Forest Service Road. This road is an important connection between Mackenzie, Fort St. James, and the Mt. Milligan Mine. Police arrived at the scene near the Litnit Creek bridge after receiving a report at around 10 a. m. Unfortunately, the man was already deceased.
The North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) quickly took charge of the investigation. They are working closely with the Mackenzie RCMP and the BC Coroner's Service. The police are trying to piece together what happened between 9 p. m. on December 27 and 10 a. m. on December 28. They're hoping that someone might have seen something or has dash-cam footage that could help their investigation. If you were in the area during that time, please contact the Mackenzie RCMP.
Deaths like these can be quite mysterious. It’s hard to say what really happened until more evidence comes to light. Sometimes, it's a tragic accident, other times it could be something more sinister. Police often rely on witnesses and technology, like dash-cams, to fill in the blanks.
It’s important for communities to stay alert and help out when needed. If you know something, no matter how small it might seem, it can make a big difference in solving a case.
