Yulia Navalny, the widow of Alexei Navalny, has a clear goal: to bring down Vladimir Putin's regime. Speaking to the BBC, she expressed her determination to make this happen "as soon as possible. " Once Putin is out of power, she plans to run for president in Russia's next free and fair elections. Currently, the 48-year-old is living in exile in an undisclosed location. This exile came after her husband's death in a Russian penal colony earlier this year. To make matters worse, a Russian court declared her an extremist and issued an arrest warrant for her.
Navalny's legacy is a priority for his widow. She has been busy compiling her late husband's writings and journal entries into a posthumous memoir titled "Patriot. " This memoir includes his smuggled notes from prison, as reported by the New York Times. "It's crucial for me to keep his legacy alive and share his voice with as many people as possible, " she told the Times. "When you lose someone so close, you want everyone to remember them. "
