New Chip Cash Boost Aims To Help Tech Grow

The Texoma chip tech hub got new cash. It has 29 million dollars. Local leaders said the cash will pay for new innovation sites. It will help train workers. It will also help move new tech from labs to the market. The effort covers North Texas and southern Oklahoma. Its goal is to protect the domestic chip supply chain.

A leader called Dabbar spoke about talks. He said he and Rick Perry, a former Texas governor, often talked. Both had worked at the federal energy office. They looked back at how Texoma changed. They saw progress happen in careful steps.

Government officials also joined the talk. They said more help may come. They said past state and local money had done good work. A university president said the region is in a busy business area. He said firms and inventors are shaping fields that matter. This may give students and research teams more chances.

The money will fund three main efforts. One effort will get 13 million dollars. It will set up shared chip tools and testing sites. Another will get 6 million dollars. It will grow worker classes and training. The last will get 5 million dollars. It will back small firms and startups.
