New Drinks Coming to One Well Brewery

Kalamazoo, MI, USATue Jun 02 2026
One Well Brewing in Kalamazoo plans a summer menu makeover. The city council gave the brewery a green light to open an off‑premises tasting room, but it still waits for the state liquor board’s final nod. The same board will also decide on a small distillery license and a mixed‑drink manufacturing permit, both needed for the brewery to produce its own spirits. The owner says Michigan law bars retailers from selling other people’s branded drinks, so owning a distillation license is the only way One Well can sell liquor. The brewery will partner with established spirit makers, though no names have been announced yet. Initial plans call for whiskey, rum, gin, vodka and agave products under the One Well label.
Alongside spirits, the company is launching Clear Sky, a fruit‑flavored vodka seltzer. It will be available on tap, in cans and for take‑away. “You can’t just serve beer, ” the founder notes. “A modern spot needs food, spirits, non‑alcoholic options and entertainment. ” Over the past decade, One Well has become known for quirky beers like State of Bean butter pecan coffee blonde and Xalapa jalapeño blonde. The taproom sits next to Wizard’s Pinball Palace and a new duckpin bowling alley, drawing crowds who enjoy the lively atmosphere. Adding cocktails and Clear Sky is expected to attract guests who normally avoid pubs because they don’t drink beer. Guests will also be able to buy bottled cocktails for home. Future plans include a coffee liqueur and a rotating trio of mixed drinks, all aligned with the brewery’s brand. Check the One Well Facebook page for updates on permits and new releases.
