New Hub for Health and Sports at William Paterson University

William Paterson University is making a big move to boost its health and sports programs. They recently started building a new $40 million center. This place is going to be huge, with two floors and 55, 000 square feet of space. It's more than twice the size of their current sports center. The new building will be a big deal for students. It will have classrooms, labs, and spaces for different health-related programs. These include sports medicine, exercise physiology, and physical education. Plus, it will offer master's degree courses in athletic training and sport administration. But that's not all. The center will also have a Counseling, Health and Wellness Center. This includes a new health clinic with a women's health center, a lab, a pharmacy, and rooms for exams and counseling. There's even a 25-yard natatorium and a multipurpose gym. The project is funded by the New Jersey Educational Facilities Authority. The university president thanked local representatives for their help in securing the funds. The center is expected to be finished by June 2027. This new facility is more than just a place to learn. It's a space for the whole university community to take care of their health. As one official said, mental wellness is key to learning and achieving excellence.
