Night Sky Spectacle: Green Fireball Lights Up Michigan
Something strange and exciting has been happening in the Michigan night sky. People have been seeing a big, green fireball zooming across the darkness. It's not a typical sight, and it's got everyone talking.
The Michigan Storm Chasers group has been busy collecting videos from weather cameras. These cameras have captured the green light as it streaks over lakes and water bodies. The latest sighting was on Monday, November 3, at 10:03 p.m. above Glen Lake. A local resident named Michele Duff Aucello shared footage from her Wyze camera, showing the mysterious light.
A Series of Sightings
This isn't the first time this has happened. Over the past few days, similar lights have been spotted across northern Michigan and even in the Upper Peninsula. The Michigan Storm Chasers weather cameras managed to capture four different angles of the light near eastern Lake Superior on Monday.
What's Causing the Green Fireball?
It's likely a meteor, a space rock entering Earth's atmosphere. The green color could be due to the presence of certain gases or minerals in the meteor. While it's not uncommon for meteors to enter our atmosphere, seeing one this bright and colorful is always a special event.
Don't Miss the Next Show
For those who missed it, don't worry. The night sky is full of surprises, and you never know when the next spectacular show will happen. Keep your eyes peeled and your cameras ready!
