North Jersey high schools had a fantastic year in 2025, with many teams and athletes achieving great things. Volleyball teams from Demarest and Secaucus showed their strength by winning state championships. Demarest won their 13th title, while Secaucus claimed their 20th. Football teams also had a great year. DePaul repeated as state champions, and Don Bosco made history by winning a game in Texas. The Ironmen's victory was a big deal because it was the first time a New Jersey team had beaten a Texas team in football. Softball teams had success too. DePaul won their first state title in 32 years, and IHA made history by winning four straight Bergen County titles. Baseball teams also had a great year, with Don Bosco and Midland Park winning state titles.
Athletes from North Jersey also had a great year. Boys from the area won five medals at the Indoor Meet of Champions. Girls from the area made history in wrestling, with four winners setting new records. Soccer teams from Ramapo and Ramsey also had great seasons, with Ramapo winning their first state title since 2016 and Ramsey completing an undefeated season. Flag football, cross-country, and golf teams also had success. Ridgewood won their third straight flag football title, while Ridgewood's cross-country team broke a six-year streak by winning a state title. St. Joseph's golf team had an undefeated season and won the Tournament of Champions by a huge margin. St. Joseph's wrestling team also had a great year, upsetting Delbarton to win the state title.
