North Texas: A Chilly Start to Halloween Week
Thursday Morning Cold Snap
North Texas is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures this Thursday morning, with levels not seen since early April. The weather team has issued a weather alert due to the cold snap.
- Frost Advisory: In effect for counties west of I-35 until 9 a.m.
- Freeze Warning: Affecting areas even farther west.
A Dramatic Change from Wednesday
Temperatures have plummeted 5 to 15 degrees lower than Wednesday. In cities like Graham and Breckenridge, west of the Metroplex, it's starting in the mid-30s. Parents are advised to ensure kids waiting at bus stops are bundled up to stay warm.
Afternoon Warm-Up and Halloween Forecast
By Thursday afternoon, temperatures will rise to the mid-60s, with calmer winds compared to yesterday. Looking ahead to Halloween, the weather is expected to be pleasant with plenty of sunshine and afternoon temperatures in the lower 70s. However, clouds will start to roll in as trick-or-treaters head out to collect their candy.
Another Cold Front on the Way
Another cold front is expected to arrive on Saturday, potentially bringing showers and another drop in temperature. This will keep the highs in the 60s throughout the weekend.
