North Texas Schools Brace for Cold Weather
Dallas-Fort Worth, USAWed Jan 08 2025
With winter break ending, schools in North Texas are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast. A mix of snow and rain is expected later this week, which could lead to school closures or changes in schedules. The National Weather Service predicts the most impact will be felt on Thursday and Friday. As of now, only some after-school activities have been adjusted. Dallas ISD plans to hold classes as usual on Wednesday but will inform parents through various channels if conditions worsen. Similar preparations are underway in DeSoto and Garland ISDs. In Tarrant County, Fort Worth ISD hasn't announced any closures but has canceled some athletic events. Arlington ISD is also monitoring the situation closely. Schools in Collin County, such as Allen ISD, have not announced any weather-related closures yet but are ready to inform families of any changes early in the morning.
