Nothing Phone 3a Series: What's New and What's Not?

Fri Feb 21 2025
The tech world is buzzing with the latest leaks about the Nothing Phone 3a series. The series includes two models: the Nothing Phone 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro. These phones are not new to the rumor mill, but this is the first time we've seen complete design leaks. The design of both models is quite similar, with the main difference being the camera specs. The Nothing Phone 3a series is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. The Nothing Phone 3a offers two RAM and storage options: 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB. The Nothing Phone 3a Pro, on the other hand, has a single configuration of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both phones feature a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The Pro model has a 3x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom, while the non-Pro model has a 2x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. The front camera on the Pro model is also more powerful, with a 50MP sensor compared to the 32MP sensor on the non-Pro model. The phones share many other specs, including a 5, 000mAh battery, a 6. 77-inch 120Hz display, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5. 4 support. They also come with Android 15 out of the box. The dimensions and weight are almost identical, with the Pro model being slightly heavier. Charging is another highlight. Both models can go from 0 to 100% in 56 minutes, and they can reach 50% in just 19 minutes. The displays are protected by Panda Glass and feature a flexible AMOLED LTPS panel with a 387 ppi resolution. The displays also have a peak brightness of 3, 000 nits and an exterior brightness of 1, 300 nits, making them easy to see in direct sunlight. The launch event for these devices is set for March 4. Pricing details are still unknown, but based on previous models, the Nothing Phone 3a could start around $349, and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro around $399. However, prices may vary. The Nothing Phone 3a series seems to be a solid upgrade from previous models, with improved camera specs and fast charging. However, it remains to be seen if the price increase will be justified by these upgrades. It's also worth noting that the design of the phones is quite similar to previous models, so it's not a major leap in terms of aesthetics.
