Josh Williams is proposing a bill to make this act a felony in the state. His idea comes after a chaotic scene at the Michigan-Ohio State football game last November. The Wolverines planted their flag at midfield after a win, sparking a fight that required police intervention with pepper spray. Similar incidents happened across college football that weekend. Williams calls his proposal the O. H. I. O. Sportsmanship Act, emphasizing that such behaviors can lead to dangerous situations for both players and law enforcement. Former NFL quarterback Baker Mayfield, known for his flag-planting stunt at Ohio State, thinks it's no big deal. He believes it's just a part of the game and that teams should accept their losses and move on. But the Ohio lawmaker sees it differently and wants to put an end to this tradition.
