Ohio State's Hidden Gems in College Football 26
Ohio, USATue Jul 08 2025
Ohio State has a lot of talented players, but some might be underrated in the new College Football 26 video game. The game rates players based on their skills, but sometimes it misses the mark.
Payton Pierce, a linebacker, is one of those players. He's only rated 74 overall, which is lower than a made-up character in the game. Pierce isn't a big name yet, but he has potential. He's a sophomore who missed some time due to an injury, but his coach, James Laurinaitis, thinks highly of him. Pierce might not start, but he could get plenty of playing time to prove he's worth more than his rating.
Jaylen McClain is another player who might be underrated. He's a safety who's competing for a starting spot. He showed his skills last year with an interception in the spring game. His coach, Matt Guerrieri, thinks he's done great this spring. McClain's rating of 77 overall might be too low considering his potential.
Luke Montgomery is an offensive lineman who's expected to start this season. He had a great College Football Playoff last year and impressed his coaches. He's rated 78 overall, but some think he's better than that.
Austin Siereveld is another offensive lineman who's rated 78 overall. He's versatile and can play multiple positions. He's expected to start this season, which makes his rating seem low.
Kayden McDonald is a defensive tackle who's rated 80 overall. He's big and strong, and he had a great season last year. He's expected to start this season, so his rating might be too low.
These players might not be the highest-rated on their team, but they could be worth more than their ratings suggest. It's important to remember that video game ratings aren't always perfect.
