TeenLyft is a website‑based program designed to help teenagers who have had metabolic and bariatric surgery. Before this study, there was no set way to give these young patients ongoing lifestyle support after the operation. The researchers wanted to see if teens would join, stick with it, and find it useful.

They asked 13‑ to 18‑year‑olds from a specialized surgery center to try TeenLyft. Twenty‑nine teens signed up, which is more than the goal of twenty. The group was mostly female and about half identified as Hispanic. Their average age was just under sixteen and their average BMI was nearly forty‑eight. Six months later, about seventy‑two percent were still involved. The study hit all its targets for enrollment, retention, data completeness, and how well the program was delivered.

When the researchers looked at weight and health markers, they saw the expected drops in weight and BMI after surgery, along with better blood pressure and lower hemoglobin A1c. No harmful changes appeared in heart‑related measures. These early results suggest that TeenLyft is safe and acceptable, and they support moving forward with a larger randomized trial to test long‑term benefits.
