Black Friday online shopping reached a new high. Americans spent $11. 8 billion online. This is a 9. 1% increase from last year. Adobe Analytics shared this data. They track over 1 trillion U. S. retail site visits.
The spending spree did not stop there. Shoppers are expected to spend $5. 5 billion on Saturday. They will spend $5. 9 billion on Sunday. This is up 3. 8% and 5. 4% from last year.
Salesforce, a software firm, reported different numbers. They said Americans spent $18 billion on Black Friday. This is a 3% increase from last year. Luxury apparel and accessories were popular. But, shoppers bought fewer items due to price hikes.
In physical stores, the scene was different. Fewer people were hunting for bargains. Some shoppers were worried about overspending. Inflation, trade policy, and job market uncertainty played a role.
Cyber Monday is expected to be huge. Adobe projects $14. 2 billion in spending. This is a 6. 3% increase from last year. It will likely be the biggest online shopping day of the season.
