Orange County saw a flurry of restaurant closures and reopenings in the first week of January. Health inspectors were busy, ensuring places to eat meet safety standards.
A Chevron station in Orange had to pause food sales on January 7th. The reason for the shutdown wasn't made public. Fortunately, it reopened the very next day.
Meanwhile, a food court in Costa Mesa, called Sessions, had to close due to an unwelcome rodent problem. They managed to kick out the critters and welcomed customers back on January 8th.
LAON in Cypress also faced a similar issue, but with cockroaches. They had to close on January 7th and worked hard to clear out the pests. They reopened on January 9th.
Sheung Shui Fish & Rice Noodles in Lake Forest had a cockroach problem too. They closed on January 6th and reopened on January 8th after cleaning up.
Taqueria Zaragoza's in Santa Ana and another Sessions location in Newport Beach had to close on January 6th. Their issue was a lack of hot water. Both places fixed the problem and reopened the next day.
Interestingly, a 7-Eleven in Irvine that had to close at the end of December due to cockroaches was able to reopen on the same day.
It's important for restaurants to maintain high standards of cleanliness. These closures serve as a reminder that health inspectors play a crucial role in keeping the public safe.
