Overwatch Meets YOASOBI: A New Song, Skins and Tokyo Adventure

Blizzard has teamed up with the popular Japanese music duo YOASOBI to bring a fresh experience into Overwatch. The partnership was announced during a Tokyo event on the 28th, sparking excitement among fans of both gaming and J‑pop. The collaboration will start on July 1 inside the game, letting players listen to YOASOBI’s emotive music while playing. Players can collect a range of cosmetic items, including new skins for heroes such as Genji, Kiriko and Hanzo. The skins will reflect the musical theme of the partnership, adding a splash of color to familiar characters.Alongside the skins, Blizzard is releasing a short story that follows Genji as he visits Tokyo. In the tale, Genji recalls memories with his brother Hanzo and teammate Kiriko, creating a narrative that ties into the new song. The story is available in the game during the event window. To celebrate, a special edition of YOASOBI’s final album in “THE BOOK” series drops on June 26 (PST). The album includes a track called “Orion, ” which is directly inspired by the Genji short story. Fans can enjoy this song whether they play Overwatch or just listen to music. Blizzard will release more details and images through the official press center as the event approaches, keeping players in the loop about new content and rewards.
