C. had 193. 3 posts about porch pirates for every 100, 000 people on a popular social media site. That’s a lot of complaints! Meanwhile, Mississippi had only 8. 9 complaints for the same population size. It's not fair that some places get hit so hard while others hardly notice the problem. Cities like New York and Chicago also faced massive losses. New York lost $1 billion and Chicago lost $450 million due to these thieves. It's astonishing that nearly 93 million packages were stolen in 2023 alone, with 261, 000 incidents happening daily! During the holiday season, things got even worse; around 300, 000 packages went missing every day. Amazon faced the most losses, with 119 million of their packages being stolen. That means 1 out of every 180 Amazon packages never reached their intended recipient.
