Liberty Science Center in Jersey City is shaking up holiday traditions with a fun twist. Kids can now meet Santa in their pajamas! This isn't your typical holiday event. It's a mix of science, fun, and holiday cheer. The center is hosting Santa's Pajama Party on select Fridays and Saturdays until December 24th. From 5:30 p. m. to 9:30 p. m. , children can enjoy a variety of activities. They can decorate cookies and ornaments, gaze at the night sky through telescopes, and snap free photos with Santa. The event also features performances by Imagine Circus, adding a touch of magic to the evening. But the fun doesn't stop there. The science center has a packed schedule of holiday events running until January 4, 2026. There's something for everyone. Kids can glide on the Sock Skating Rink, enjoy hourly snowball fights, and meet live animals like penguins and lemurs. For those with a sweet tooth, the Nitrogen Ice Cream demonstration shows how to make peppermint ice cream using liquid nitrogen. The Fire & Ice Science Show, featuring experiments with fire and frozen water, is also a hit. The holiday-themed planetarium and Tis the Season Laser Show are available through January 4. Tickets for these shows are $8 for both adults and children ages 2-12. Weekend activities include the Gingerbread Express Train, a holiday-themed mini train ride for children, with tickets priced at $5 per ride. The science center is open daily from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. General admission is $31 for adults and $26 for children. Parking is available for cars and vans at a fee of $7 during the day. All holiday events are included in the general admission ticket.
