Paris Launches Probe into Elon Musk’s X Platform

Paris prosecutors have started a formal inquiry into the social media company X, owned by Elon Musk. The case centers on claims that the platform misused algorithms and shared false data. This step follows Musk’s refusal to attend a court summons on April 20, which has escalated the matter. The investigation now covers X. AI Holdings Corp, X Corp and xAI, as well as Musk himself and former CEO Linda Yaccarino. If these parties do not appear before the court, judges may issue warrants that will officially place them under scrutiny.The probe has grown in scope over recent months, adding allegations that X helped spread child pornography and create sexual deepfakes using its Grok technology. These accusations have strained ties between the United States and European regulators, especially around issues of Big Tech influence and free speech.
