Paul Finebaum's Big Decision: Faith, Politics, and the Alabama Senate Race
Alabama, USATue Nov 18 2025
Paul Finebaum is still thinking about running for the U. S. Senate in Alabama. He said he will make up his mind after the college football season ends. He was on a radio show and shared his thoughts.
Finebaum believes he can win against the current candidates. He thinks people in Alabama like candidates who speak their minds, like Tommy Tuberville did when he was elected in 2020. Finebaum said voters are tired of politicians who just follow what others say.
He also talked about being Jewish and how some people think it might hurt his chances. Finebaum disagrees. He said people in Alabama have changed and are more accepting now than they were decades ago. He wants to bring Christians and Jews together.
Finebaum has been in the public eye for a long time. He knows this means people will look into his past and use things he has said against him. He has already been criticized for things like praising Nick Saban for supporting Black Lives Matter.
The race is for the Senate seat that Tuberville is leaving to run for governor. There are already several Republicans and Democrats running. Finebaum has to decide if he is ready for the scrutiny that comes with running for office.
