PCOS Pregnancy Risk: A New Machine Learning Tool for Better Outcomes
Multicenter clinical studyFri Nov 06 2026
Women with polycystic ovary syndrome who get pregnant after fresh IVF or ICSI face a higher chance of losing the baby. This is a real problem for many couples trying to build families. The risk is higher than for other groups, which makes it hard for doctors to predict who might struggle. They need a way to tell who is at most danger. Current methods are not always reliable enough.
A big multicenter study looked at this issue. They tracked nearly 9,000 clinical pregnancies across many centers. The research combined three phases: the main study, an external check, and a follow-up over time. This way they could see how accurate the model was in real life. They wanted to make sure the tool worked everywhere, not just in one place.
The team built a machine learning tool to sort women into risk groups. They tested it against other data from outside the study and then watched the women's outcomes over months. The results showed the model works well at spotting those who need extra care. This could help doctors give better advice and support to pregnant women with PCOS. It might also lead to fewer sad losses and more happy families.
