Picasso Favored, Banksy's Next Move

World art auction marketSat Sep 19 2026

These are expectations, not finished results. People currently seem to favor Picasso as the artist who will lead global fine-art auction revenue. They are much less likely to place Warhol or Basquiat in that position. A likely outcome is still not a guaranteed result.

Banksy is the most mixed part of the picture. People currently seem doubtful that Banksy will post on Instagram before the stated deadline. People currently seem to favor a new mural or street artwork before the later deadline. The split suggests quiet online, but active streets.

AI work is not gaining much confidence. People currently seem unlikely to see an AI-made artwork hit a major auction benchmark. The Turner Prize field is also not leaning toward Simeon Barclay, Kira Freije, or Marguerite Humeau. Barclay faces the strongest doubt, while Freije and Humeau are also viewed as unlikely winners.

Two auction price questions are closer. People are divided over whether Warhol's Flowers and Lichtenstein's Green Head will meet the stated benchmark. Each has a slight lean toward yes. The open question is whether those slight leans hold up.
