Pick Your Winner: College Football Experts Weigh In on Georgia vs. Notre Dame
New Orleans, USAFri Jan 03 2025
Get ready for a big college football showdown! ESPN's "College GameDay" has made its predictions for the upcoming Sugar Bowl between Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The game, delayed due to an unfortunate incident on Bourbon Street, will air on ESPN at 4:00 p. m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 2.
The GameDay crew didn't hold back on their opinions. Former Michigan star Desmond Howard thinks Notre Dame has what it takes, especially after Georgia's less-than-impressive performance with Carson Beck at the helm. He's counting on Georgia's fresh quarterback, Gunner Stockton, to struggle.
On the other hand, legendary coach Nick Saban is betting on Georgia. He believes in Stockton's ability to lead and thinks the team's experience in high-stakes games will give them an edge. Pat McAfee, always one to root against Notre Dame, is siding with Georgia as well.
Not everyone is on board with Georgia, though. Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit are putting their money on Notre Dame. Herbstreit thinks Notre Dame will come up with a solid game plan but ultimately agrees that Georgia might edge them out in a close game.
In the end, the crew is split. Georgia got three votes, while Notre Dame snagged two.
