Google is pushing a fresh software upgrade to its Pixel lineup today. The new version, called Android 16 QPR3 Beta 2. 1, arrives about a month after the previous one and skips the expected Beta 3 label, which surprised many. The update is aimed at several models: Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, and 7a. For other devices that were already on the latest release, a separate code CP11. 251209. 009. A1 covers them all.
The update is fairly large – roughly 123 MB for a Pixel 9a and 98. 4 MB for the Pixel 10 – so users might notice a bit of download time. The official release notes do not say what problems have been fixed, leaving customers to guess which bugs or security holes were addressed. However, the patch still carries the January 2026 security update, so it should protect against recent threats.
Not every device gets an OTA image. The Pixel 10 series, for example, is missing a separate download file and must rely on the standard over‑the‑air process. The upgrade is available for a wide range of Pixel phones, from the 6 to the newest 9 Pro Fold and 10 series. Even older models like the Pixel 6a or the tablet form‑factor devices will receive it if they are still supported.
Google has hinted that a newer Android 17 Beta will arrive soon, but no timeline is given. For now, users can update their devices to the latest security patch and enjoy any new features that come with it.
