Get ready, Poconos! A winter storm is on its way, and it could dump up to 10 inches of snow on your doorstep. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Sunday, affecting Carbon and Monroe counties the most. These areas might see between 6 to 10 inches of snow. Over in Pike and Wayne counties, expect a bit less, around 5 to 9 inches.
Earlier in the day, the forecast was a bit uncertain. But with better data on the approaching low pressure system, the NWS updated their predictions. Across the region, expect at least 5 to 8 inches of snow. If you're in higher areas, you could get up to 10 inches!
It's not just snow to watch out for. Other parts of Pennsylvania are under an extreme cold watch. Temperatures are expected to drop so low that wind chills could reach a bone-chilling 25 degrees below zero.
