Poland's Crypto Law: A Second Chance or Just More of the Same?

Poland is trying again to pass a law about digital money, like cryptocurrency. This isn't the first time. A similar law was stopped by the president a few weeks ago. Now, the same people are trying again, but with a few tweaks. The new law is almost identical to the old one. It's meant to follow rules set by the European Union (EU), called MiCA. These rules are supposed to make digital money safer and stop bad things like money laundering. The law would make a Polish group, called the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, the boss of digital money in Poland. But not everyone is happy. Some people think the law is too strict. They say it will make it hard for new ideas to grow and could hurt businesses. Others think it's necessary to protect people and follow EU rules.
The president who stopped the last law said it was too controlling. He's worried it might limit people's freedoms. But the people who want the law say it's important for Poland to follow EU rules and keep up with other countries. There's a deadline. By July 2026, all EU countries must have laws like this. Poland is the only one that doesn't yet. If Poland doesn't pass this law, it might miss out on benefits from the EU. Some people think the president might change his mind this time. Maybe he's been given more information about why the law is important. But others aren't so sure. They think the law is still too strict and might not be good for Poland. Time will tell if Poland can pass this law and join the rest of the EU in regulating digital money.
