Polestar EVs Now Charge at Tesla Stations in North America
North America, USAWed Oct 30 2024
Polestar EV owners in North America have exciting news. The company has announced that their cars can now use the Tesla Supercharger network across the US and Canada. Starting today, owners can purchase an adapter from any Polestar Service Point to make this happen. This $230 adapter will be delivered in mid-November, just in time for holiday road trips.
Polestar's move to adopt the Tesla charging standard, known as the NACS inlet, is a significant step. It adds over 17, 800 charging stations to their network, making long drives more convenient. This addition, combined with the existing 10, 000 CCS DC fast chargers, gives Polestar owners access to nearly 27, 800 fast-charging stations.
Anders Gustafsson, the head of Polestar North America, highlighted the importance of this change. He noted that it greatly increases charging options, providing more confidence for owners on the go.
The Polestar 3, the latest electric SUV from the company, is now available. Reviews so far, including one by Engadget, have been positive. Despite a few early software issues, the $73, 400 (and up) vehicle is being praised for its performance.
