In Hammond, a surprising incident unfolded when deputies swooped into a Creek Circle apartment complex. This wasn't just any routine check – they found themselves in the middle of a drug-dealing and gun-stealing operation. Two men and a woman, ages 26, 37, and 34, were taken into custody. Breanna Brock, 26, Curtis Gilmore, 37, and Ryan Zimmermann, 34, now face serious charges. They are accused of distributing drugs, possessing stolen guns, and working together in a criminal conspiracy. Zimmermann is already behind bars elsewhere due to other charges.
The investigation began on September 6 during a welfare check. That's when deputies ran into Brock, who attempted to assault them. Gilmore, spotting the action from a distance, made a run for it with a stash of drugs. Deputies chased him down all the way to Ponchatoula. The search of the apartment yielded a substantial haul including eight pounds of marijuana, mushrooms, suspected fentanyl, over a hundred THC vape cartridges, a stolen firearm, a pile of steroids, and nearly $6, 000 in cash. Authorities confirmed that Zimmermann was also involved in the scheme. This incident highlights the ongoing struggle against drug dealing in the area and the dangers law enforcement faces daily.
