PrEP Awareness Varies Across Chinese Cities for MSM

In China, men who have sex with men (MSM) can protect themselves from HIV using pre‑exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP. It works well when taken regularly, but many MSM still do not know about it or use it. Researchers wanted to find out if the city you live in matters. They looked at data from many MSM across several Chinese cities. The goal was to see whether awareness, willingness, and actual use of PrEP differ from one city to another. The study used a multilevel analysis. This means they considered factors at both the individual level (age, education, income) and the city level (health services, stigma levels).
