Presbyterian College showcased their skills in a recent basketball game against The Citadel, winning 69-41. Carl Parrish led the Blue Hose with 21 points, while Josh Pickett added 15. The Blue Hose started strong, scoring the first 17 points of the game. They maintained their lead throughout, never giving The Citadel a chance to catch up.
The Citadel struggled from the start, missing their first 10 shots. It took them nearly nine minutes to score their first points. Braxton Williams was the only bright spot for The Citadel, scoring 13 points off the bench.
The Blue Hose had a much better shooting performance. They made 27 of 50 shots from the floor and 10 of 22 from three-point range. In contrast, The Citadel shot poorly, making only 14 of 46 shots from the floor and 7 of 22 from three-point range. They also struggled from the free-throw line, making just 6 of 13 attempts.
The game was played at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center, which will host the Southern Conference basketball tournament in March. The Citadel coach, Ed Conroy, admitted his team had a rough start. He said they were out of rhythm and couldn't score. The Bulldogs will travel to North Carolina to play Davidson next.
This game highlights the importance of a strong start in basketball. The Blue Hose set the tone early and never let up, while The Citadel couldn't recover from their slow start. It's a reminder that momentum can be crucial in sports.
