Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s Health Declines, Doctors Struggle to Stabilize

The Thai Royal Palace announced that Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s condition has deteriorated because of several infections affecting different organs. She is 47 and the eldest daughter of King Vajiralongkorn. The princess was first admitted to a hospital in December 2022 after she fainted due to a heart issue and other infections. She has remained unconscious since that time.During ongoing treatment, doctors found a stomach infection in April that inflamed her intestines. This inflammation lowered her blood pressure and made her heartbeat irregular. Medical staff have used drugs and devices to support her lungs and kidneys, but her health keeps slipping. The palace said that physicians will keep a close eye on her and give more treatment as needed. The news comes after Thailand’s Queen Mother died last year at 93, adding a layer of sadness to the royal family.
