Public Views on Future Hurricanes and Rain Events
People currently seem to think that Isaias will not strike Louisiana as a hurricane. They also feel the same way about Mississippi and Alabama. Many expect the storm to stay out over water. When it comes to the Singapore Grand Prix, the feeling is that rain will not interrupt the race.

Regarding the first Atlantic hurricane of the season, expectations appear to be leaning away from the names Cristobal, Dolly and Edouard. Most think the opening storm will get a different label. For Hawaii, the view is that a hurricane will not make landfall there before the season’s midpoint. Along the US Gulf Coast, the outlook is that Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi are unlikely to see a hurricane come ashore by the end of the period.

Choi‑wan is seen differently. The prevailing idea is that it will grow into a very strong typhoon. On the river front, people think the water level at St. Louis will stay above a very low mark, so they do not expect a new record low.
