Russian President Vladimir Putin, aged 72, recently paid a visit to the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow. The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, has assured everyone that these visits are just routine check-ups. Independent sources like Meduza reported that Peskov told a Tass reporter that these medical examinations are preventative measures. Putin himself has mentioned these routine check-ups before, even encouraging Russians to get flu vaccinations during a televised session. There's been a lot of talk about Putin's health, especially since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Some U. S. intelligence leaders have suggested that Putin might have been treated for cancer. However, Kremlin officials insist that these hospital visits are nothing out of the ordinary.
Meanwhile, Russia's military has been facing significant losses in Ukraine. According to Ukraine's military, Russia has lost around 9, 000 tanks and 18, 000 armored vehicles since the start of the war. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also reported that over $8 billion worth of Russian artillery has been destroyed in 2024 alone. It's important to note that these numbers can't be independently verified, and both sides of the conflict have been known to exaggerate or downplay their losses.
